Standard Piano Tuning
A precise, by-ear tuning to A440 concert pitch — in your home.

A standard tuning restores your piano to A440 — international concert pitch — so every note sits true against the others and against the rest of the musical world.
Working entirely by ear and across the full keyboard, our technician brings each of the roughly 220 strings into agreement, then checks the result note by note before packing up. It's patient, methodical work, and it's finished only when the whole instrument sings together.
Is a standard tuning right for my piano?
A standard tuning is the right service when your piano has been tuned within the last 12 to 18 months and is still sitting close to pitch. If, on arrival, we find it has drifted further than a standard tuning can correct, we'll explain why and what it needs before doing any extra work — you'll never get a surprise on the invoice.
What to expect on the day
- About 90 minutes in your home for a standard tuning
- A quiet room and clear access to the piano is all we need
- A quick health check of the action and pedals while we're there
- An honest heads-up about anything worth watching
How to prepare
Clear anything resting on top of the piano and from the area around it, and keep the room quiet during the appointment — tuning is done by ear, so background noise genuinely matters. That's it.
